  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring chicken broth or water to a boil.
  2. Stir in quick-cooking grits and salt. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
  4. Add shrimp and season with Cajun seasoning (and garlic if using). Cook until shrimp turn pink, about 3 minutes per side.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and additional chicken broth into the skillet with cooked shrimp. Simmer gently for another couple of minutes.
