- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth or water

- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- Optional: 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- Chopped green onions
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring chicken broth or water to a boil.
- Stir in quick-cooking grits and salt. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
- Add shrimp and season with Cajun seasoning (and garlic if using). Cook until shrimp turn pink, about 3 minutes per side.
- Pour in heavy cream and additional chicken broth into the skillet with cooked shrimp. Simmer gently for another couple of minutes.
- Spoon creamy grits into bowls and top generously with saucy shrimp.
