Description

Savor the creamy indulgence of Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes, featuring layers of tender potatoes enveloped in a rich, velvety cheese sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (1 cup sharp cheddar, 1 cup Gruyère)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Peel and thinly slice the Russet potatoes to about an eighth of an inch thick.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the flour to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream until smooth. Cook until bubbly.
  5. Stir in shredded cheese until fully melted and combined.
  6. Layer the potato slices in your prepared baking dish, pouring cheese sauce over each layer until covered.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let sit for five minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
