Description

Apple & Hazelnut Tarte Tatin is a delightful dessert featuring warm, caramelized apples and crunchy hazelnuts, perfect for cozy gatherings or an indulgent treat at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled, cored, and sliced into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed according to package instructions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toss the apple wedges with lemon juice in a bowl to prevent browning.
  3. In a large, oven-safe skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add granulated sugar and stir until it bubbles into a golden caramel.
  4. Arrange the apple wedges upright in concentric circles over the caramel. Sprinkle chopped hazelnuts on top.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry and gently lay it over the apples, tucking in the edges around the fruit.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
