Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy (about three minutes).
- Add molasses and the egg to the butter-sugar mixture; beat until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using low speed until just combined.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about a quarter-inch thick. Cut out festive shapes using cookie cutters.
- Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets with space between each cookie.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until firm at the edges but still slightly soft in the center. Cool completely on wire racks before decorating.
