Indulge in a heartwarming pear pie featuring a buttery crust, sweet pear filling, and a hint of cinnamon—perfect for cozy family gatherings or quiet evenings at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 57 tbsp cold water
  • 6 cups fresh pears, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. For the Crust: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Cut in chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
  4. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. For the Filling: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. In a large bowl, combine sliced pears with sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  7. Assembling the Pie: Roll out half of the chilled dough on a floured surface to fit your pie dish.
  8. Place the rolled crust into the pie dish and fill it with the prepared pear mixture.
  9. Roll out the second half of the dough for the top crust; place it over the filling and cut slits for steam vents.
  10. Seal edges by crimping with fingers or a fork.
  11. Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
