Description

  • 6 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated.
  2. Place half of the apple mixture at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  3. In another bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, and brown sugar.
  4. Add softened butter to the mixture and combine using your fingers until it resembles a crumbly texture.
  5. Sprinkle half of the topping over the layer of apples in the slow cooker.
  6. Repeat with the remaining apple mixture followed by the remaining topping.
  7. Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for about 4 hours or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
