Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 1 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • Lemon slices (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice 2 cups of fresh strawberries. Reserve half for infusion and set aside the other half for garnish.
  2. In a medium saucepan, boil 4 cups of water. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 3 black tea bags. Allow them to steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of sugar until fully dissolved while the mixture is still warm.
  4. Add the reserved sliced strawberries to the warm tea and let them steep together for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Strain the mixture into a pitcher to remove strawberry solids. Add 4 cups of cold water and mix well.
  6. Serve over ice with extra strawberry slices and lemon wedges for added zing!
