- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey or chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs (about one inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Boil sweet potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15 minutes).
- Drain and mash sweet potatoes with butter or olive oil until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, mix maple syrup, soy sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper.
- Simmer for about five minutes until slightly thickened.
- Plate meatballs atop a bed of sweet potato mash and drizzle generously with maple sauce.
