Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on the kitchen counter.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, add vegetable oil. Once hot, add enough popcorn kernels to cover the bottom in a single layer. Cover with a lid and let them pop until there are about two seconds between pops.
  3. While the popcorn is popping, combine cocoa powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  4. Once popped, carefully pour the popcorn into a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the spice mixture over hot popcorn and toss until every kernel is coated.
  5. Transfer to serving bowls or individual bags for sharing. Feel free to garnish with extra cocoa powder or paprika if desired.
